Quick tips

Before heading out to enjoy the beaches on Oahu, there are a few things you should know:

  1. Depending on where you are on the island, some of these beaches may be over an hour’s drive away. Please make sure that you are aware of this before heading out and plan accordingly.
  2. Make sure to take plenty of water and some snacks if you are planning to stay awhile. Also make sure to clean up after yourselves when you leave, as the local environment is incredibly important and relies on us to take care of it.
  3. When surfing at these locations, be aware of other local surfers and know proper surfing etiquette. The less you know, the more dangerous it can be for yourself and others around you.
  4. “When in Doubt Don’t Go Out.” Always check with lifeguards for surf conditions before entering the water. Never surf waves that are big and if you are unfamiliar with the surf break and currents. Don’t try and surf waves above your experience level without proper guidance and instruction. Safety is a priority here!
