Shark cage diving can be a once-in-a-lifetimes experience. Seeing sharks up close on the North Shore of Oahu is something families and animal-lovers alike will cherish for years. So as you prepare for your shark cage diving excursion in Hawaii, you might be wondering what to bring. We’ve compiled a list of things that you must have for your adventure:

A swim suit

This is a water attraction, and you will get wet! Come in your bathing suit, as places to change once you’re on the boat will be limited.

A camera

This is a very unique experience. On the North Shore of Oahu, you may not see a shark while walking along the beach. However, the shark cage diving team at Surf N Sea knows how to get you a great up close view of these beautiful creatures. Don’t forget an underwater compatible camera to capture the magic!

Towel and warm clothing

It may be nice and pleasant in the water, but the boat ride to and from the location where we do the shark cage dive can be breezy, and you may be chilled after you get out of the water. Please bring a towel and some warm clothes to stay warm during transportation.

Sun protection

Even though you’ll be underwater for the actual shark cage diving experience, you’ll be in the sun on the boat to and from the location where we’ll see the sharks. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses or other protection, such as a hat or swim shirt.

Contact lenses

If you wear prescription lenses, you might want to opt for contact lenses for this Hawaiian excursion. You’ll be wearing goggles underwater to see the sharks, and contacts are much easier to accommodate.

Sea sickness pills, if necessary

On the boat ride out to the excursion location, the waves can get a little choppy. If you’re prone to sea sickness, be sure to pack some anti-nausea medication.

An open mind and excited attitude

All of our shark cage diving team are extremely knowledgeable about safety procedures, as well as the animals themselves. Above all else, be ready to have a great time and a life-changing experience out on the water as you get to observe the sharks and other sea creatures!
