North Shore beaches like Sunset Beach and Pipeline, are some
of the best known and respected surfing beaches in the world.
People come here from all over to experience the power and
beauty of the North Shore's
seven miles of exquisite coastline,
barreling big winter waves, and
perfect A-frame peaks.
But, don’t let the North Shore intimidate you. There are just as many safe beginner spots as there are high performance spots. North Shore waves
can be a bit more challenging than the waves in Waikiki, but when you're
ready, our qualified Surf n Sea instructors will find the perfect spot for
your ability and skill level.
Chun’s Reef and Pua’ena Point are two very good spots for novices surfers. At these fairly protected and popular entry level spots we can assure your utmost safety and enjoyment at all times.
Even during the Spring and Summer months, when the giant winter waves are gone, there are still waves on the North Shore if you know where to look. These can still be considered “secret” spots, and we’d like to try and keep it that way. Just know that the instructors have your safety at the top of their priorities, and be ready for a great day at the beach.
